Crystal Clear Vision Restored: Post-Cataract Assessment

A post-cataract assessment is a medical evaluation that takes place after cataract surgery. Cataract surgery is a common procedure to remove the cloudy lens in the eye and replace it with an artificial lens. The purpose of a post-cataract assessment is to evaluate the patient’s vision, check for any complications, and ensure that the eye is healing properly.

During a post-cataract assessment, our Optician will typically perform several tests, including visual acuity tests to check the patient’s vision, slit-lamp examinations to examine the eye’s structures, and tonometry to measure intraocular pressure. The Optician may also dilate the patient’s pupils to get a better view of the inside of the eye.

Therefore, once our patients have returned from their cataract surgery and the recommended duration has passed, the aftercare assessment is performed and if everything has gone accordingly, the patient can then be discharged by our Optometrists.
